Schools out! So enjoy the school holidays at Brogdale
The school summer holidays are finally here and, with restrictions eased, it’s time to make some plans to get the most out of the summer. If your kids love being outside and getting their hands dirty, we’ve got plenty of school holiday fun to keep them busy at Brogdale Collections.
For green little fingers
Kids summer gardening sessions. This summer for the first time we are offering the chance for children to come and grow with us in our unique Brogdale Collections wildlife garden. Children will take part in a fun one-off session experiencing and appreciating where food comes from, whilst getting some fresh air and their hands mucky. Book here. More information here.
For the young foodies
Hold back on the week’s meal prep and book one of our outdoor cooking sessions for the whole family. Have fun at Brogdale exploring the beautiful fruit collection, cooking over the campfire and lastly the best bit… sampling the goods! Depending on the day, this could be apple crumble, pea and apple soup or possibly a plum and blackberry cobbler. Delicious!
Once you’ve learnt a few recipes, you and your family could make this a regular fun event in your own gardens too!
Book here for either the 25th or 26th of August. Booking advised, so you don’t miss out!
For juice lovers
If your kids love apple juice, then you must come down to Brogdale Farm to make your own. You and your family will have the opportunity to explore the apple orchards and pick your favourite apples and learn about the process as they are turned into fresh juice just for you. This is a lovely day out in the fresh air for all of the family, no matter what age. Take home some of the biggest apples for later, and don’t forget to follow the apple trail to reveal its secret! For more information on the juicing days click here.
For music fans
Come and play at the National Fruit Collection in our beautiful orchards with local community samba band Samba Pelo Mar.
Each student will get the opportunity to learn a piece of percussion-based music using the samba instruments and some of Brogdale’s own instruments. Including surdo bass drums, snares, tambourines, bells and shakers from Brazil. Brogdale’s instruments consist of tubular gongs, bat phones and log drums. No experience is needed, just come along, learn and have fun!
At the end of the workshop there will be a performance and parade for family and friends to see what you’ve been up to! Purchase your tickets to our kids outdoor music workshops..
