Gardening: About the day
Gardening: One Day Introductory Courses
Our new monthly gardening courses are designed to appeal to both the novice and the improving gardener. Led by a very experienced horticulture lecturer the sessions are designed to be fun and informative.
Each month we will focus on what to do in the garden that month and well as forward planning for the seasons. Every session will cover different types of propagation; hands on where appropriate and with you taking away some of the products of your efforts to grow on at home.
Topics covered will vary according to seasonality but each will include coping with pests and pruning tips as well as learning new and exciting plants.
There will be opportunities for gardeners questions plus bring in plant material for identification or diagnosis of ill health (In plastic bags please!).
You can do one or all of the days as there will be new things to learn at each.

What others say…
“Great class, very informative and we learnt a lot. The instructor was clear and very engaging. I would definitely recommend this course. Many thanks for making courses like these available.”
“The course was very informative and also extremely entertaining. The instructor is obviously an expert, and it was a privilege to join his course. He also went out of his way to make himself available for our personal questions and issues. It was a marvellous day” – Noel Ensoll
“An excellent day with a mixture of theory and outdoor practice. The instructor accommodated the varying needs and expertise of the group and dealt patiently and knowledgeably with questions, including those of a novice like me. It was enlightening and encouraging to find you could be bolder with pruning than you might at first have thought! Plenty of coffee and tea; lunch was finger buffet style but perfectly adequate. Staff at the centre were welcoming and friendly. Very good value for money”
“The right balance of theory and practical. Very approachable with all my questions. He got the class to gel immediately with his relaxed and friendly approach. He is an excellent instructor. I learnt heaps! Thank you.” – Karen Kartrieb
